OH WOW! Summer Hours Begin 5/28 (Memorial Day)

OH WOW’s summer hours go into effect on Monday, May 28 – Memorial Day.

Summer Hours are as follows:

Mondays: Closed (including Memorial Day)

Tuesdays – Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Fridays & Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sundays: noon to 4 p.m.

OH WOW! Cake-itecture Contest Winners!!

To celebrate its successes, OH WOW! hosted its first annual Birthday Bash on Saturday, May 12. Guests were encouraged to share their ideas for the future of OH WOW!, and welcomed with free cake, chances to win door prizes, and the first OH WOW! Cake-itecture Contest. Four local bakeries went head-to-head, designing STEM-themed cakes for the party. Clarencedale Cake of Boardman took OH WOW! guests back in time with a cake shaped as the prehistoric shark species, Megalodon. Sugar Showcase of Austintown emphasized engineering with its cake design, creating a Rube Goldberg machine. The Cake Boutique of Warren presented a four-level cake emphasizing some of the greatest science related discoveries known to man, such as Newton’s Laws of Gravity. Lastly, Blue Iris Cakery of Niles, invention reflected OH WOW’s avionics exhibit and the concept of flight by adorning its cake with paper airplanes.

OH WOW! visitors, members and their families chose the winners at the OH WOW! Birthday Bash.

It's been the most ONE-derful year!!

Recently, OH WOW! and the Trumbull County Educational Services Center teamed up for the Adventures in STEM conference, a unique learning opportunity for area educators this past March. Now OH WOW!'s educational resource materials are available to one and all on Trumbull County ESC's website. You can download OH WOW! Classroom Connection PDFs from the rightmost column. NASA resources are also available.

OH WOW! Recycling Program

As part of our goals, we are working to implement a comprehensive recycling and waste management program here at OH WOW! We plan to effectively recycle common items used by our guests and staff such as newspapers, magazines, brochures, metal food and beverage containers, glass, plastic, and cardboard. Not only do we wish to become more environmentally conscious but also to communicate this message to our guests and encourage them to become environmentally responsible as well.

Youngstown Phantoms at OH WOW!

Today, OH WOW! is playing host to the ghosts with the most - the Youngstown Phantoms! Three hockey players - Sam Anas, Mike Ambrosia, and Dylan Margonari - will be here until 1pm signing autographs. Thanks very much to Ashley Brindle, director of game day operations.

Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Conference for K-12 Teachers

Oh Wow! Trumbull County ESC is doing something new -- join us for a unique learning opportunity. They’ve partnered with OH WOW!, Defined STEM, and NASA to provide teachers with a morning full of hands-on STEM activities. Teachers will leave with resources to bring STEM to life in the classroom. The day will be packed with tools and experiences to help you enhance your 21st Century skills and make literacy connections. Participants will receive four professional development contact hours.
